Engineering is considered among those fields which keep on evolving and knows no bounds at all. Every now and then, we observe hundreds of breakthroughs being made in one or the other field of engineering. Despite several myths attributed to the engineering field, it has become one of the most advanced and sought-after fields across the globe.

Look out in your neighborhood and you will find every second or third kid with an aspiration to become an engineer. Be it a software engineer, be it an electrical engineer or any other one. The bottom line is everyone sees their future in this field. Of many other perks enjoyed by the engineers, the most attractive one is their salary package. Initially, it is low but with the passage of time and with additional degrees, the pay of an engineer surpasses any other person deployed at the same scale with the same level of degree.

Here in this article, we will be focusing mainly on how much do engineers make and what additional degrees contribute in their high payouts. Let’s find out how much do engineers make.

The reason is, the technical prowess of one surpasses its successor and so on and so forth. A paradigm shift has been observed in this century when we see every system being translated into code and human intervention has become lesser.

The companies are mostly hunting for fresh software engineering graduates because they have the nerves to handle the complications. The initial salary of a fresh bachelorette of software engineering ranges from $56,856 to $80,000. With experience and education, it can top up to $126,691.

Employment of software developers is projected to grow 17 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. The main reason for the rapid growth is a large increase in the demand for computer software.

  • Electrical Engineer Salary

For a fresh electrical engineer, the salary is from $57,000 to $75,000. And if he happens to attain a master’s degree while remaining on the post, he is then liable to be paid from $75,000 to $110,000. The median annual wage for electrical engineers was $94,210 and for electronic engineers, it is $99,210 except computer engineers. Unfortunately, no change in growth rate of the job is expected in 2014-24.

  • Mechanical Engineer Salary

The median annual wage for mechanical engineers was $84,190 in May 2016. Mechanical Engineer pay starts from $50,049 per year and it can go up to $98,961 per year depending upon qualification, experience, and type of job. The hourly income lies with in a range of $15.37 – $41.83. The average growth rate for mechanical engineering  is 5% where as it is 7% for overall engineering
